MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT

In cooperation with Department leaders, the National Organization strives to achieve membership goals. A strategic plan has been conceived and should be, with the assistance from the National Organization, implemented at the Department level. To sustain a vibrant membership base, National Headquarters offers technical, logistical and financial resources to make recruiting in the field a well-organized operation.

Departments have the responsibility to initiate a well-planned program, using Department funds and resources allocated by the National Organization.


MEMBERSHIP GOALS FOR 2003 - 2004

The National Organization, with a full understanding of the importance of recruiting new and reinstated members, in addition to retaining our continuous members, will afford you the opportunity to participate in the VFW All Star Game.

MEMBERSHIP AWARD TRIP TO HAWAII
MAY 2004

Fifty-Four (54) Department Commanders and their guest can enjoy this wonderful vacation award being offered by our Commander-in-Chief as a small token of his appreciation for "a job well done.".

POST & DISTRICT COMMANDERS'
MEMBERSHIP AWARD TRIP TO -
KANSAS CITY

Twelve (12) Post and six (6) District Commanders, one from each division and their spouses/guest can win this exciting Kansas City Award Trip.

Commanders will have to be 100% to qualify for this award and must be the top Commander in their membership division as of March 31st to win.

The award winners will receive round-trip travel from the airport nearest the Commander's home to Kansas City, Missouri.

A fun filled weekend is planned that includes touring, shopping, a major league baseball game, and a complete tour of National Headquarters.

Awards are not transferable.


NATIONAL RECRUITER AWARDS


CENTURY RECRUITER AWARD

For recruiting 100 new and/or reinstated members (excluding MIP), the recruiter receives a distinctive citation and cap from the Commander-in- Chief.



COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF RECRUITING AWARDS

For recruiting 25, 50, 75 new and/or reinstated members (excluding MIP), the recruiter receives a distinctive plaque from the Commander-in-Chief.

Membership pins will also be given to those recruiters who sign up three (3), five (5) and ten (10) new or reinstated members (excluding MIP).

A special pin will be given to those individuals recruiting twenty-five (25) or more MIP members.


100% POST AWARD

A distinctive Banner will be awarded to every Post that reaches 100% in membership by June 30, 2004.



RECRUITER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The recruiter signing up the most new or reinstated members (excluding MIP) by June 30, 2004 and spouse/guest will receive the following:

  1. Round trip airfare to the 105th National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  2. Head table seating at the annual National Convention banquet.
  3. Expense check in the amount of $1,000 (maximum per individual/couple) to help defray expenses.
  4. Commander-in- Chief's citation.
  5. Distinctive cap and name badge.

MILITARY INITIATIVE PROGRAM (MIP)

RECRUITER AWARD

The recruiter signing up the most new Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard Unit members by June 30, 2004 and spouse/guest will receive the following:

  1. Round trip airfare to the 105th National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  2. One ticket to the National Convention banquet. (Accompanied winners will receive an additional ticket.)
  1. Special recognition during the 105th National Convention.
  2. Expense check in the amount of $500 (maximum per individual/couple) to help defray expenses.
  3. Commander-in Chief's citation.
  4. Distinctive cap and name badge.

NATIONAL CONVENTION

RECRUITER AWARD

Special recognition at the 105th National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio will be awarded to the following individuals:

  1. Any member recruiting 300 new or reinstated members (excluding MIP) by March 31, 2004
  2. Each member who recruits twenty-five (25) new or reinstated members (excluding MIP) will have his/her name entered into a drawing for the National Convention Award. Additional chances will be offered for every twenty-five (25) new and reinstated members signed by March 31, 2004.
  3. Each member who qualifies for the National Convention Award will receive the following:
  4. Round trip airfare to the 105th National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  5. Special recognition during the 105th National Convention.
  6. Expense check in the amount of $500 (maximum per individual/couple) to help defray hotel accommodations.
  7. Commander-in-Chief's citation.
  8. One ticket to the National Convention banquet. (Accompanied winners will receive an additional ticket.)

ALL AMERICAN

2003 - 2004

This is a National award.

Up to 190 Post, District and Department Commanders can earn this distinct honor.


ALL - AMERICAN TEAM

In accordance with proposed Division allocations, each member of the All - American team will receive the following:

  1. Round trip airfare to the 105th National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  2. One ticket to the National Convention banquet. (Accompanied winners to the National Convention will receive an additional ticket.)
  3. Expense check in the amount of $500 to help defray hotel accommodations.
  4. Specially designed All - American cap and name badge.
  5. All - American lapel pin.
  6. All - American citation
  7. Invitation to the All - American breakfast.

ALL AIR TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE THROUGH VETERANS TRAVEL SERVICE.

NOTE: THIS AWARD IS NON-TRANSFERABLE AND NO SUBSTITUTIONS ARE PERMITTED. IF THE RECIPIENT IS UNABLE TO ATTEND THE CONVENTION, THE AWARD HAS NO CASH VALUE.
